Spirit Week
As part of our Homecoming activities, the week after Christmas is Spirit Week for elementary and secondary. Each day is a special dress up day (try Candy Day, or Fake Injury Day). Secondary students also have a class volleyball tournament on Thursday and Class Spirit Games on Friday. The week ends with the Friday night basketball games and special recognition of our Providence Academy alumnae.
Student Publications
Providence Academy students have a number of opportunities to develop their creative and journalistic skills and interests. As part of journalism, students publish the school yearbook, The Shield, and a school newsletter. The creative writing class works with students grades K-12 to publish the literary anthology, Soft Whispers.
Film Club
The Film Club, open to students in grades 9-12, watches three or four films each year during lunch time to enjoy and discuss classic and other great films that are not included in our regular course curriculums. Film examples include It’s a Wonderful Life, The Great Escape, and Hitchcock’s Rear Window.
