Ben HollandWe are excited that you are considering Providence Academy as a school for your child. Providence Academy, a private classical Christian school located in Johnson City, TN, was started in 1994 to assist parents with preparing their children for life and for eternity. An interdenominational, college-preparatory school serving students from kindergarten through grade 12, Providence Academy strives to teach and build eternal relationships Coram Deo, in the Presence of God, and exists only as an extension of the Christian family unit. Providence Academy utilizes the framework of classical teaching methodology to promote a rigorous academic setting. In addition, students have opportunities to participate in fine arts, athletics, and service activities. The ultimate goal for Providence Academy can be summarized in our mission statement: “Providence Academy equips students to achieve academic excellence and spiritual maturity through a biblically-based, Christ-centered, classical education, so they will think and live in a manner which brings glory to God.”

Campus Visit

Each Thursday at 9:00 a.m. we have a one hour program, a mini-tour of our school, which we call the “Providence Preview.” During this tour we provide an overview of our 45 acre campus, our 67,000 square foot facility, a Christ-centered and classical educational program, and a bit of our history and testimony. You also will have the opportunity to visit a classroom to see our educational approach in action while on the tour.

Tour Request

Student Visit

Prospective students are welcome to visit classes at PA. Visiting students in the upper grades are paired with a PA student who acts as their host for the visit. Parents should contact the elementary administrative assistant to schedule a visit with an elementary class and the secondary administrative assistant for a visit to secondary classes at 423.854.9819. We do ask that elementary parents accompany their child while visiting at PA.

Open House

Twice each year, fall and spring, PA hosts an Open House Event. This is an opportunity for families to learn more about our school, to meet members of the administration and faculty, and to gain a better understanding about our philosophy, academics, fine arts, athletics, and opportunities for parent involvement. The Open House allows us to share our dedication to providing a Christ-centered, classical education that equips students to achieve academic excellence in an orderly, loving environment.
