Secondary Art Show

The secondary art show reception is May 8, 6-8 pm at Tipton Gallery, 126 Spring Street, Johnson City. The art pieces will be on exhibition from May 9-May 17. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy the art work of our secondary students.

The Diary of Anne Frank

The secondary drama department will present The Diary of Anne Frank on April 21 at 7:00 p.m. and on April 22 at 2:00 and 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. Tickets may be purchased at the door 30 minutes prior to each performance.

Library Book Fair

We love to "Read! Write! Create!" Come join our future authors and artists at the Providence Library the week of March 27 through March 31 for our annual library book fair. Thirty percent of the proceeds raised will go to buying new books for our collection, so please come shop these wonderful selections from Backyard Book Fair! The fair will be open throughout the school day until 3:30, and your student(s) will have an opportunity to preview and shop during their regular library class time. The fair will also be open Thursday evening (March 30) from 5:30-6:50pm, prior to the 1st and 2nd grade musical. Cash, checks, and credit cards are all accepted. Thanks for supporting your school library!

Last day for all student attendance, May 25th

Poetry Out Loud Winner Places in Top 10!

Congratulations to Ashley Brantner! After winning the school’s POL competition, she competed in the Tennessee State Poetry Out Loud competition on Saturday, March 4, and placed in the Top 10 for the state.

Congratulations - to Emem Okpokowuruk, grade 12, for placing at the Region 1 chess tournament on Saturday, January 28. She advances to the Tennessee State Individual Chess Tournament at TN Tech University on Saturday, February 18.

Fall Poetic Power Competition

Congratulations - to Grayson Leake, grade 11, for placing in the Fall Poetic Power competition with his poem "My Hiding Place." Also, congratulations to Sami Roberts, grade 11, for placing with her poem "The Mountain." Both poems will be printed in an anthology featuring student writing from the US and Canada.

The Valentine's Diner

The Valentine's Diner - will be held Saturday, February 11, at 7:00 p.m.

We invite you to attend the choral department's annual fundraiser, the Valentine's Diner: an evening of dessert and music. All proceeds go toward the chamber ensemble's trip to NYC. Tickets are $7.00 in advance or $10.00 at the door. Reservations for the diner can be made by emailing dsmith@providenceacademy.com or calling the box office at 423-393-7429.

2017 Providence Academy Spelling Bee

Congratulations to the winner of the 2017 Providence Academy Spelling Bee, John Hutchinson, 8th grade, and to our runner up, Jack Davis, 7th grade. We would like to also recognize all of our contestants: 3A, Rachel Tilson; 3B, Elliana Collins; 4A, Brodie Fulks; 4B, Ethan Tuell; 5A, Lilliana Faris; 5B, Merritt Runnels; 6A, Luke Davis; 6B, Andrew Cunningham; 7th grade, Carson Peters; and 8th grade, Ruth Kirsch. All of our contestants did extremely well, and it was an exciting bee!

2)    A text* alert will be sent.

3)    An announcement will be posted on the PA web site.

4)    The school calendar will reflect the schedule change.

5)    Local radio and TV stations will be notified.
