Reading Week

We are celebrating our love for books this week with all sorts of fun activities. This year’s theme is mysteries. Our week-long festivities began with the second grade Caldecott Parade, and Friday culminates in an Elementary Assembly full of book-themed costumes, student and faculty skits, silly songs, and a visit from Mr. Wizard (Tony Hester), who will show us God's creation through "Mysteries in Science." The students will also be presenting their class books to the library. Parents are more than welcome to join the fun at the assembly on Friday from 8:45-10am.

SGA Second Harvest Food Drive

"but happy is he who is gracious to the poor"  (Proverbs 14:21b). The SGA Student Food Drive for Second Harvest Food Bank will take place September 26-30. Students are asked to bring in canned food items to help support the thousands of families in Northeast Tennessee who are in need. Elementary students may place items in the boxes outside of their classrooms or in the marked areas within the cafeteria. Secondary students should take items directly to the cafeteria. Priority items that are needed are canned fruits and vegetables (but no home-canned or glass items). If you would prefer to make a monetary donation online, you may do so directly to Second Harvest.  Go to www.netfoodbank.org, then click on DONATE NOW on the top right in Orange, you then select your Gift Amount, Donation Frequency, put in payment information, then in the special purpose for donation you would put Providence Academy Student Food Drive (students grade, ex: 5A), then you simply select DONATE NOW to complete.  Thank you in advance for your support!
