Hannah Hollowell Named National Merit Finalist

Providence Academy Student - Hannah Hollowell - Named National Merit Finalist

Providence Academy senior Hannah Hollowell has been named a Finalist for the 2015 National Merit Scholarship program. Hannah is the daughter of Eric and Linda Hollowell of Fall Branch, TN.

Every Finalist will compete for one of 2,500 National Merit® $2500 Scholarships that will be
awarded on a state-representational basis. All winners of Merit Scholarship® awards (Merit Scholar® designees) are chosen from the Finalist group based on their abilities, skills, and accomplishments—without regard to gender, race, ethnic origin, or religious preference. A variety of information is available for NMSC selectors to evaluate: the Finalist's academic record, information about the school's curricula and grading system, two sets of test scores, the high school official's written recommendation, information about the student's activities and leadership, and the Finalist's own essay.

Providence Academy has had 249 graduates to-date, and there are 32 students in the current senior class. Hannah is the sixth student to be named a National Merit Finalist from Providence Academy.
