The Secondary Drama Program at Providence Academy seeks to provide an opportunity for students to develop the life-long skills of oral communication, self-discipline, teamwork, leadership, and creativity. These skills are taught through activities such as acting, storytelling, improvisation, and interpretation of poetry and drama performances. Through hands-on activities, students learn about all aspects of drama. In recent years Providence’s Drama Department has sponsored productions such as Roger’s and Hammerstein’s State Fair and Singin’ in the Rain. All of the productions and classes are taught and directed from the perspective that drama is a gift from God and that, as Christians, we should develop and use our gifts for His glory.

At the elementary level, drama skills and activities are incorporated with the musicals and programs directed by the Elementary Music Teacher and the elementary teachers.
